2009 Event Schedule (tentative)
THURSDAY May 7
- Noon to 6:00pm — Early Packet Pickup at Santa Barbara Running Co. in Goleta (located at 129 Fairview Ave. off Hwy 101 in Fairview Center) No exhibitors.
FRIDAY May 8
- 10am to 7:00pm — Race Expo at Marriott hotel in Buellton. Exhibitor booths, sampling, event merchandise sales, packet pickup and more!
- 11:30am to 1:30pm — Bicycle course preview tour with Bart Yasso of Runners World and Santa Barbara Wine Country Cycling Tours. Bikes, lunch and support provided. Ride the course from Santa Ynez to Solvang.
- 5:30pm to 7:00pm — Welcome Reception with wine tasting, appetizers and guest speaker Bart Yasso, Travel Editor of Runners World magazine. Must register online ($20)
- 5:00 to 9:00pm — Runner dinner specials offered are participating restaurants in the Santa Ynez Valley (details tba).
SATURDAY May 9
- 5:20 to 6:30am — Transportation to start, late packet pickup and warm-up at Maverick Saloon on Sagunto St. in Santa Ynez. Must sign up and pay for late pickup ($15 in advance)
- 7:00am — RACE START on Sagunto St. in Santa Ynez
- 8:00am to 10:15am — Race Finish on Copenhagen and First St. in Solvang
- 9:30am to Noon — Wine & Music Festival in Solvang Park presented by THE SANTA BARBARA INDEPENDENT
- 10:30 to 11:10am — Awards Ceremony in Solvang Park, Presented by RaboBank
- Noon to 6:00pm — Special offers at various tasting rooms, wineries and other area merchants in Solvang, Los Olivos and Santa Ynez on Sat and Sun.
- 2:30 to 5:30pm — Special VIP wine-tasting tour in Santa Ynez Valley with event director Matt Dockstader and Bart Yasso of Runners World. Inquire by emailing matt@destinationraces.com.
- 3:00 to 6:00pm — Post-race deck party at Maverick Saloon with live band & BBQ

SATURDAY May 9
- 5:15 to 6:30am — Transportation from Solvang Park to the start — Buses leave every 10 minutes (4 mile trip)
- 5:30 to 6:30am — Transportation from Santa Ynez Valley High School to the start — Buses leave every 10 minutes (1 mile trip)
Note: Longhorn Café and Roasted Bean Coffee house are open at 5:30am in Santa Ynez near start area.
- 7:00am — Transportation from Solvang Park to relay transition area in Los Olivos
- 7:20am — Transportation from start area to Los Olivos relay transition area
- 7:30am — Transportation from start area to Solvang Park
RETURNS:
- 8:10 & 8:30 — Transportation from Los Olivos (relay) to Finish Area
- 9:50, 10:30, 11:10, 11:50, 12:30 — Race transportation from Solvang Park to Santa Ynez
