Experience the beauty of the Santa Ynez Valley in the heart of Santa Barbara Wine Country as you pass through vineyards, lavender farms, fruit orchards and horse ranches on your way to the finish down Copenhagen Drive in the Danish village of Solvang. Your journey begins in the old west at Maverick Saloon in downtown Santa Ynez. You'll then pass through the quaint town of Los Olivos at the relay transition point of the course before running down scenic Ballard Canyon into Solvang.
We offer one of the BEST FINISH areas of any race where you can relax while you recover, then celebrate in style at the Wine & Music Festival in Solvang Park. Sample wines from the top vintners while you enjoy the post-race activities. Bring your family and friends to celebrate Mothers Day weekend in the wine country. Plan to stay and visit the many shops, restaurants, wineries and other offerings of this magnificant valley and the greater Santa Barbara area.

Destination Races poster artist Jean-Pierre Got lives in Bordeaux, France but one of his favorite places to visit is the Santa Barbara area. The town of Solvang, founded in 1911 by Danish settlers, with its timber-framed cottages painted in vivid colors, flowered streets and windmills, remind Jean-Pierre of a "little Denmark". This year's poster depicts a typical Danish miller in a traditional costume looking up at a runner hooked by the wing pole who is still running, amazed to be so light in the air. Jean-Pierre firmly believes that his posters should be both realistic and poetic. In this case he has accomplished that goal and maintained the integrity of Danish culture while bringing style and fantasy to his artwork. Posters are available for purchase on this website and at the event.
