Experience the beauty of the Santa Barbara coast and the Santa Ynez Valley at this Wine Country Half Marathon event produced by Destination Races. The beautiful 13.1 mile course starts in downtown Santa Ynez, runs through the quaint town of Los Olivos, then down breathtaking Ballard Canyon on your way to the finish in the Danish-influenced town of Solvang. You'll run past fruit orchards, lavender farms, Arabian horse ranches and vineyards before crossing the finish line to a cheering crowd on Copenhagen Drive. This is an ideal event to bring family and friends to spend a long weekend in wine country and celebrate in style at the popular post-race Wine & Music Festival in Solvang Park.

This colorful medal from Ashworth Awards is shaped like a wine glass and highlights your accomplishment of running all three California races through 39.3 miles of wine country. If you run our Santa Barbara, Napa-to-Sonoma and Healdsburg races (do not have to be consecutive races) you are eligible to receive our vertical flight award (it's a wine term). This medal will be awarded to registered runners who complete all three California races. Email us after you complete all three and we'll send you the award at no charge!
If you prefer to pick up your packet on Thursday before the Friday EXPO, there will be a packet pickup party from 5:30 to 7:30pm in Santa Barbara at special location TBA. Wine and appetizers will be included. Race organizers and announcer Whit Raymond will be in attendance to answer questions and entertain you. The fee is $20 for this option and you can register online.
Photos from the 2009 race are still available from Brightroom. 2009 BRIGHTROOM PHOTOS You can also check out our photos from all our races at our dedicated photo page at www.winecountryhalfphotos.com. Brightroom will also be at the 2010 event taking photos from key locations along the course. Don't forget to smile! We also shot behind-the-scenes and on-course video footage from last year's bizarre week leading up to race day as staff, law enforcement and many registered local runners had to deal with the effects of the Jesusita Fire which burned in the hills above Santa Barbara. Eventually we'll be producing a documentary of that event and scenes from the film will be made available on our website.
